Cross-Country Skiing

The most complete endurance sport — arms, legs and core working at once, with zero impact.

Exécution

  1. Shift your weight fully onto the gliding ski; two loaded skis at once means standing still.
  2. Classic style keeps the skis in the track, pushing down and back; skating pushes diagonally outward.
  3. Start the pole push from the core and lats, not the triceps alone.
  4. Push short and hard, then relax completely during the glide — the rhythm is the technique.

Conseils

  • Classic is easier to learn, skating harder and more intense; one hour of instruction beats ten hours of practice.
  • Dressing as warmly as feels right is the classic beginner mistake — ten minutes in, the maths no longer works.
