Nordic Walking
Walking with poles — brings the upper body in and raises energy expenditure noticeably.
Utførelse
- Pole length roughly your height × 0.66; when in doubt, take the shorter option.
- Plant the pole diagonally next to the foot and push off behind you — never plant it ahead of your body.
- Open the hand at the end of the push; the strap holds the pole and spares your forearm and shoulder.
- Lean the torso slightly forward, shoulders down, core engaged.
Tips
- The most common mistake is simply carrying the poles — without a real push-off it's just walking with added weight.
- Rubber tips on asphalt, the metal spike off-road.
